0-160 MPH in under four seconds. That seems quite exhilarating to those thrill seekers who like speed. A naval aviator in an F-18 Super Hornet being launched off a carrier catapult will experience 2.5g of g-force when accelerating from 0-170 mph in two seconds in only 300 feet.

Getting back to the 0-160 in under four seconds, it does not exceed the take-off speed of a top fuel drag racer funny car. Dragsters reach over 300 MPH before you have completed reading this sentence. But this 0-160 mph in ⅛ mile distance we’re sharing today is done on a home made trike that is powered not by gasoline, but by water.

François Gissy, the creator of this pressurized water tank three wheeled missile, also set a world record when he rode, or held on tightly to, a rocket-propelled bicycle he built that traveled 0-206 mph in only 4.8 seconds. It is amazing to watch him zip down the track at over 200 mph on thin bicycle tires while he easily outruns a Ferrari F430.

In the video below, François jet propels himself down a drag strip like a water pressurized rocket fired into the sky. If you like jet powered aircraft then check out all our many #JetFriday posts and share them with your friends.
