DESCRIPTION

Duotech Services LLC, a portfolio company of Bernhard Capital partners focused on engineering, repair and modernization services for defense electronics, seeks a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and self-driven Director of Finance with demonstrated accounting experience to work alongside the executive team to drive growth through strategic planning, detailed financial analysis and overall financial management.  Candidate must have knowledge and experience in Department of Defense (DoD) government contracting. This position will provide financial direction to company leadership and oversight of the financial team to manage and improve the day-to-day accounting operations. A successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position reports under the direction of the CEO.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead development of finance analysis (value chain analysis, financial modelling, opportunity assessment, return on investment analysis, cash flow analysis and other financial tools) to develop recommendations to business leads and strategy assessments to support decision making. 
  • Forecasting and business analytics leadership of volume and revenue forecast while ensuring a high level of forecast accuracy is delivered. 
  • Analysis of business results and recommending forward actions to close gaps to plan or accelerate the business results. 
  • Analysis of business performance for gaps versus plan and lead the development of contingencies/solves for leadership teams. 
  • Understand external and competitive category performance to inform decisions. Leadership of financial management with the customer team, which requires strong customer focus and influence. 
  • Communicate and interpret findings across the company based on financial analysis that provides additional perspectives on implications, risk, opportunity and trends. 
  • Review, improve, provide input, approve and present completed analyses that requires expert knowledge of financial models and application of strategic and operational measures to assess economic and commercial viability of proposed investments. 

Required Duties: 

  • Oversight of the Financial team to execute bi-weekly payroll; manage AR/AP functions daily 
  • Prepare financial statements to include income statements, balance sheet and cash flow  
  • Provide analysis and tools to assist in monitoring revenue and costs. 
  • Manage and update accounting policies and procedures 
  • Manage the budget and forecasting process 
  • Assist in developing cost sections of business proposals 
  • Coordinate the audit process 
  • Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals and internal controls   

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance 
  • CPA certification preferred but not required 
  • 7+ years of experience in a senior-level financial role 
  • Experienced in Annual Business Planning and strategic thinking including applying forecasting techniques and skills to develop and evaluate business goals and strategies, analyzing information to derive insights and implications to initiate planning/re-planning, and controlling actual results vs. budget. 
  • Strong understanding of P&L management (including drivers of business, revenue, and gross profit), revenue growth management capabilities, and forecasting in DoD related lines of company business. 
  • Ability to evaluate business planning goals/strategies and analyze financials to derive at insights and initiate gap solving for leadership team. 
  • Strong change management capabilities – demonstrates innovation and creativity to create business solutions; ability to influence/gain alignment across divergent perspectives. 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations 
  • Experience in Defense related contracting critical to ensure compliance with CAS, FAR and DCAA  
  • Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solution built to streamline and automate core business operations.  Experience with DELTEK COSTPOINT or similar platform is desired including experience in converting a company to a new ERP system 
  • Strong attention to detail; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

    Skills: 

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    The individual must strong written and verbal communications skills as interaction with management team and other members of the organization are necessary to provide support through the development of financial and managerial information, analysis and reports.  

    MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS: 

    The individual must be competent in mathematics necessary to perform the required calculations and to be able to understand technical papers and discussions. Strong analytical skills are required.  The individual shall be proficient in working with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Microsoft PowerPoint. 

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

    The primary work environment shall be in an office, and manufacturing floor. The individual may be required to travel both within the US and throughout the world, and may be subject to a wide variety of work environments. Expected travel is less than 5%. 

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: 

    The individual may be required to apply for, and receive, a security clearance issued by the United States Department of Defense. Employment, therefore, may be subject to obtaining and maintaining a clearance with United States Government.
