Students from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School, a private, coeducational day and boarding school located in Rabun Gap, GA, visited Duotech Services, LLC on Tuesday, March 18 to tour the DSI facilities. Fifteen students from the science classes at Rabun Gap, located in Dillard, GA, attended to receive a personal, in-depth experience on how Duotech supports aerospace and defense industries around the world.
The students visited DSI engineering, repair, and machine shop work areas and gained a unique immersion into the tools and techniques DSI technicians and engineers use on a daily basis to solve customer problems worldwide. Leading the tour, Brett Rogers, DSI Vice President, explained Duotech’s specialized engineering capabilities, which currently reach over 40 foreign nations around the world.
Rich Peoples, a Mechanical Engineer at Duotech, provided an overview of the Machining and Fabrication facility. This state-of-the-art lab is equipped to facilitate rapid, effective design, prototyping, and production of a wide variety of components, from control knobs to radar arrays.
While learning about laser printing techniques, the students were given a gear-shaped piece of acrylic with the Rabun Gap Eagles logo laser etched onto its face. DSI was grateful to spend time with these great young men and women and to perhaps encourage some to become mechanical and electrical engineers.
