The new 25,000-square-foot facility represents a $4 million investment in Huntsville and is expected to create 50 new high-quality jobs, significantly expanding Duotech's ability to test, repair, remanufacture and sustain electronic systems and subsystems supporting critical U.S. and allied defense platforms.
The grand opening brought together leaders from across government, economic development and the defense industry to celebrate Duotech's continued investment in one of the nation's premier aerospace and defense technology hubs. Located in Huntsville's Research Park, the new facility positions Duotech closer to many of the nation's leading defense organizations, prime contractors and technology partners supporting missile, missile defense and military aviation programs.

“Our expansion into Huntsville marks an important and exciting chapter for Duotech,” said Dan Bader, President and CEO of Duotech Services. “This investment strengthens our ability to support the nation’s defense mission while creating meaningful, high-quality jobs for the local community. Huntsville’s talent, infrastructure and deep connection to missile and missile defense technology make it the perfect home for this new facility. We’re proud to contribute to the region’s growth and to provide solutions that keep critical systems in the fight.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured remarks from Peyton, Smith, Vaughn, McGovern, Bader and Ferraioli before the ceremonial ribbon cutting officially opened the company's newest defense sustainment facility.
Duotech's Huntsville expansion builds upon more than four decades of trusted defense sustainment expertise established at the company's headquarters in Franklin, North Carolina. Since 1982, the company has provided engineering, repair, reverse engineering, testing and remanufacturing services for military and aerospace electronic systems, helping the U.S. Department of Defense, major defense contractors and allied nations extend the operational life of mission-critical equipment.
The Huntsville facility will expand Duotech's capabilities in electronics depot services, rapid prototyping, engineering support and technology sustainment, with a particular emphasis on missile and missile defense systems. The company specializes in solving electronics obsolescence challenges by repairing and remanufacturing critical components that are no longer supported by original manufacturers, helping customers reduce costs, improve readiness and extend the service life of vital defense platforms.
Following the ceremony, Bader emphasized that Huntsville's concentration of defense expertise made the Rocket City a natural choice for the company's expansion.
"There's such a robust pool of talent here, from technicians to engineers to program managers, that we felt we could more quickly expand our business by locating here. It's just a great spot to be for recruiting. And a lot of the work we do is for the big primes in the defense industry, and everybody's got a presence here, so we can more quickly work with people, find them, have discussions and grow our business just because everybody's here."
Alabama Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair praised the investment, saying:
"Protecting our national security and growing our nation's defense capabilities is a critical aspect of our manufacturing sector and Alabama is proud to add Duotech to our bench of industry innovators. Duotech's investment here strengthens our position as a global leader in aerospace and defense, brings quality jobs to our citizens and enhances our overall economy. We know Duotech will find in Alabama the workforce, community partners and infrastructure to be successful."
Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle also welcomed the company's expansion.
"As opportunities evolve across the defense, aerospace and technology sectors, companies are choosing Huntsville for the strength of our workforce and a community defined by innovation and collaboration. Duotech's decision to expand in Huntsville reflects the confidence industry leaders place in our proven ability to support mission-focused work and sustain long-term growth."

With renovations complete and AS9100D certification now achieved, Duotech's Huntsville operation is fully positioned to deliver the same rigorous quality standards and mission-critical sustainment capabilities that have defined the company's Franklin, North Carolina headquarters for more than 40 years.
The Huntsville expansion represents the latest milestone in Duotech's continued growth and reinforces the company's commitment to providing agile, cost-effective and innovative sustainment solutions that help keep mission-critical defense systems operational for the U.S. military and allied nations around the world.
