Gold Star Teen Adventures Gearing Up for 2015!

Survival Hike on Appalachian Trail

June 2015 will see the second annual Adventure Outdoor Leadership Camp once again held in Fayetteville, NC, and in the mountains surrounding Franklin, NC.

Soon after teens from across the country arrive in Fayetteville on a Friday, they are given a tour of Special Forces Rowe Training Facility at Camp McKall. There on Saturday the teens will participate in Survival Training and Introduction to Leadership Training, taught by Special Forces Instructors. On Sunday they take part in Team Building and Leadership Exercises.

Late Sunday afternoon the group will be transported to the Western North Carolina mountains for the remainder of their adventurous week. During this period they will tent camp and rock climb in Pisgah National Forest, conduct a survival hike with challenge stations along part of the Appalachian Trail, and camp using hammocks in the Nantahala National Forest.

Along the Nantahala River the Teens will engage in team challenge stations, a ropes course, white water rafting, and zip lines. The week is capped off with a celebration and awards dinner at the Roger’s Farm in Franklin, headquarters for the Western North Carolina events of Adventure Outdoor Leadership Camp.
